Antivirus allowlist

Some AVs flag unsigned launchers as false positives. Add an exception for the folder if it complains.

How to allowlist

Not sure if your PC can run it? If Minecraft Java Edition launches and plays above 30 FPS on your system, MineKitty will run better than vanilla. The launcher bundles its own runtime — nothing else to install.

Download & extract

Click Download above. You'll get a zip. Extract it anywhere — Desktop works fine. No installer, no setup wizard.

Sign in once

Open MineKitty-Setup.exe. Sign in with your Microsoft account. The launcher remembers you, so you only do this once per PC.

Pick a version & play

Choose your Minecraft version from the dropdown, pick a mod profile, click Play. MineKitty launches the game for you.

Is MineKitty free?

Do I need Fabric or Java installed?

No. MineKitty bundles its own runtime and installs Fabric on the side for you when a mod profile needs it. You just download the launcher, extract, and run — the client handles everything else.

My antivirus flagged the launcher. Is it safe?

Common false positive. Unsigned launchers trip heuristic scanners because they spawn child processes and write to the game folder — same pattern as legitimate launchers like Lunar and Badlion. Add an exception for the folder and re-run. Scan on VirusTotal for peace of mind.

Does this work with OptiFine / shaders?

Yes. MineKitty ships with Sodium and Iris built in — shader support out of the box, no extra mods required. If you prefer OptiFine, it installs cleanly from the in-launcher mod browser.

Does it work with other Minecraft mods?

Yes. MineKitty supports any Fabric mod. Install them through the in-launcher mod browser or drop them into the profile's mods folder — both work.

Will this get me banned on servers?

No. All built-in mods are client-side and safe on every vanilla-compatible server — Hypixel, Mineplex, and everything else. Cosmetics only render on your client.
